The following two quotes
have had a major influence on what and how things are done at the T&SC,
illustrating the need for other assistance. |
Other than CBTC and bookstore products, most of what is available, or done, is offered at no cost. Your financial support is not only greatly appreciated, but essential to the continuation of the T&SC. By contractual agreement with the T&SC, all contributions added to atow/CBTC product purchases, are considered to be made directly to the Teaching & Sharing Centers, unless specifically stated otherwise by the donor. Since those funds are released to the Teaching & Sharing Centers 501c3 non-profit corporation, your contributions are tax-deductible. |
501c3
INFORMATION
|
The Teaching & Sharing Centers is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. The funds you entrust to us are prayerfully and responsibly managed. When did the T&SC receive IRS Certification? In December 2005 the IRS issued a determination letter recognizing the T&SC as a 501c3 organization (public charity) as of November 19th 2004. What does being a 501c3, tax-exempt organization mean? The term "tax-exempt," when used in reference to nonprofit organizations, generally refers to the net profits (proceeds over and above expenses) of an organization being exempt from federal and/or state income tax. While a nonprofit organization can be established by incorporating, the entity is not automatically tax-exempt upon creation with the state. Tax-exemption can usually be achieved only through applying for and receiving Internal Revenue Service (IRS) approval. Are my donations tax deductible? Yes — because the T&SC is a 501c3 tax-exempt organization, your donation is totally deductible to the full amount allowed by law. Please check with your tax preparer for specifics. |
A SPECIAL WORD FROM WILLIAM ABOUT CREDIT CARDS
FOR DONATIONS
|
One of the possibilities you have been given is to use a Mastercard, Visa, or similar card to make a donation. From the very beginning of the T&SC in 1994, this caused some consideration on my part, since I teach eliminating the use of credit cards, and moving toward debt-free living, as one of the best ways to simplify life. Like me, for some of you, this card may actually be a debit card. Others, effectively use them as such by paying off the entire balance each month. On the other hand, many are heavily burdened by credit card debt. It is not my place to tell anyone what to do with their finances. However, if you intend to use a credit card where you maintain a balance because you are unable to pay it off, I would humbly suggest that you not add to your burden by making a contribution at this time. I believe it is more important for you to move toward debt-free living than it is for you to help the T&SC with our needs. Until you are in a better position financially, your prayers are a most sufficient way for you to participate in what we do. |
