MEETINGS

Regular Board of Trustees Meetings (second Saturday in January and fourth Saturday in June) - all in the Teaching & Sharing Center of Grand Ledge multi-purpose room.

Saturday,  January 10th, 2009 at 1:00 p.m.

Saturday,  June 27th, 2009 at 4:00 p.m.

Annual Membership Meeting - at the T&SC - open house and BBQ

Saturday, June 27th, 2009 from 1:00p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Board of Trustees has authorized development of a number of volunteer positions (see the "Who We Are" page in menu at left).  If you live locally enough, and have an interest in serving, or in exploring what any of these participation possibilities might entail, please contact the T&SC, or any board member.

The board has also authorized a 7% paid commission (independent contractor status) income option for any member willing to seek out grants for our operations and programs, or who runs an Independent Fundraising Project on behalf of the T&SC.  If you are interested in these opportunities, please contact us.

On January 1, 2005 the Teaching & Sharing Center became a Michigan non-profit corporation.  At the board meeting of May 7, 2005 christian life programs and the poet's circle officially were accepted as DBAs (assumed name - doing business as) of  the T&SC.  Also, a touch of william and Cherokee Bill's Trade Center entered into contracts with the T&SC as Independent Affiliated Ministries (IAMs).  On July 14, 2007 the corporate name was changed to Teaching & Sharing Centers, recognizing projects such as the Michigan Living History Encampment as separate T&SC endeavors from the original Center. The wsharing website was also officially designated as an IAM. The T&SC is approved by the IRS as a 501c3 public charity.  It is legally incorporated on a membership basis.  If you would like to become involved, or simply show your support, by becoming a member, just click on the Membership Form link (at left under Corporation Pages).  After completing, print and  mail the form with the annual or lifetime fee to the T&SC.  All annual memberships officially renew on July 4th each year. They first renew in the calendar year following the original year of enrollment.  Therefore, an initial membership can last as long as 18 months or as short as 6 months, depending on when the application is submitted.

Important Note:  In trying to keep our expenses minimal, we do not maintain long distance telephone service at the T&SC and are only able to return local or toll-free calls from there.

Some of our member's are involved in historical re-enacting.  The Teaching & Sharing Centers corporation (non-profit 501c3 public charity) sponsors the Michigan Living History Encampment as a part of Grand Ledge's Fall Color Cruise & Island Festival. (The below photos are from the 2005 encampment) From set-up [upper left] on Thursday through the three days of the festival we are blessed in our sharing and a good time is had by participants and visitors alike. If you would like to participate (or can simply help) in this program/event this fall (second full weekend in October], whether for a few hours or the entire weekend, please contact us.
